The figure authorised for European Inspectors is subject to impending secondments and retirements, which will reduce it eventually to 200. The Cantonese Contingent was in excess of establishment by 209 to compensate for the deficiency in Northern Chinese and Indians. The Portuguese are on a temporary basis and are not an established unit.
